Our First Gluten Free Thanksgiving

First of all, I want to say how truly blessed I am to have so many family and friends in my life. And I am also blessed to have all of you followers! Thanks so much to you for reading this and encouraging me along the way!

I wanted to share what my first gluten free Thanksgiving was all about.

My Mom and I planned an ambitious meal to say the least.
I started the dressing and made a cheesecake the night before, on Friday (We ate our meal on Saturday) and mom put turkey breasts in the slow cooker Friday night as well.

Then on Saturday we fixed Potato/Hashbrown Casserole, Green Bean Casserole, Biscuits, Baked Apples, Cherry Coffee Cake, and finished the dressing. Whew! I'm exhausted just typing all of that!
Glutino Corflakes made an excellent topping for this casserole.

Sticking with the Glutino theme, Glutino Cheddar crackers perfectly topped off this dish.
I'll be posting both casserole recipes soon. Even though Thanksgiving is over, they both are perfect dishes for Christmas parties!

Baked apples and turkey cooked in the slow cooker.
To make the turkey: rub the turkey breast with oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Put onions and garlic cloves  in slow cooker with the turkey breast. Cook on low 9-10 hours.

These were so yummy! Click on the picture to take you to the blog post all about these tasty biscuits!

I've written a blog post about this recipe from Tennessee Home and Farm that I converted to gluten free. Click the picture to take you there.

One last dessert....
I made this especially for my dad, because he loves cherry desserts but we all loved it! It made two cake pans and there is not much leftover!

Click here to go to get the recipe off of Betty Crocker's website.

All in all, I would say we had a pretty good, gluten free Thanksgiving! :)
